Maybe you’re one of those people who actually likes cleaning the bathroom.  Or maybe you’re like the rest of us and you dread it.  Either way, a good bathroom cleaning checklist from our award-winning professional house cleaners can help you get the job done! 

 Step 1: Gather your supplies.  You’ll need the following, at a minimum.  One great housecleaning tip is to keep your bathroom cleaning supplies in a caddy so they’re always grouped together and ready to go.

• Glass cleaner and microfiber cleaning cloth
• Non-scratch sponges and/or brushes
• Disinfectant cleaning solutions (sprays, wipes, etc.)
• Toilet bowl cleaner and bowl brush
• Broom or vacuum cleaner
• Wet mop, bucket, and cleaning solutions
• Rubber gloves and other protective gear, if you so choose 

Step 2: Remove clutter and other items.  Take out anything that doesn’t belong in the bathroom and put it where it goes.  For example, take dirty laundry to the laundry room and put books or toys back in the rooms where they belong.

Step 4:  Clean the shower, tub, sink, and vanity.  Spray down your shower, tub, and sink.  You may need to use specialized cleaning solutions to tackle certain problems, including mildew or soap scum, or you may want to sanitize these areas with a disinfectant.  Remember to never use bleach and ammonia at the same time, as this combination will create dangerous fumes.  While the cleaning solutions set for a moment, spray glass cleaner onto the mirror and wipe with a clean microfiber cloth.  Then wipe down the surfaces, gently scrubbing where needed. 

Step 5: Clean the floors.  Shake bath mats and rugs onto the floor, and then sweep or vacuum all dirt and debris. Follow with the wet mop, and when the floor has dried, replace the mats or rugs.
